Representatives from Dolgencorp met with city officials and local businesses. The meeting was held after complaint from local realtors stated that Dolgencorp’s expansion plans are interfering with their plans to turn everything into apartment complexes by 2030.

The proposed city-wide mega-complex, code named “Columplex”, is heavily reliant on renovating old businesses and turning unused land into expensive apartments no one can really afford.

However, Dolgencorp has claimed that this infringes on their right to turn any old business or unused land into Dollar General stores.

Local business owners are not pleased with either organizations proposals, stating that they are making it hard to open up gas stations.
