CRH ER Staff Accidentally Perform Normal Duties, Save Man’s Life

A Columbus man’s life was saved on February 11, 2024 after ER staff actually did their their jobs for once. Jake Acker, 24, came into the emergency room with a severed hand. Acker had waited approximately two hours before passing out. When he came to, he was being seen by the doctor and two more hours had passed. Sarah Jacobs, one of the nurse practitioners at CRH, was on her way to examine another patient when she went into the wrong room and found Acker.

Acker was then finally rushed into an operating room, where the wound was finally treated after six other doctors said he was only seeking drugs, or that it was just a cold.

Numerous complaints were filed against CRH in 2023 and 2022. Long wait times, absent doctors, improper diagnoses, poor billing practices, lack of testing and cold bedside manner were the most common complaints.

A representative from CRH refused to comment.
